The Austin Business Journal’s ‘2020 Commercial Real Estate Awards’ honors projects and transactions that have had the biggest impact on its community and the industry.

Presidium, a diversified real estate development, investment and management firm, has been recognized by the Austin Business Journal’s ‘Commercial Real Estate Awards,’ a program that showcases the projects — and the people behind them — that exemplify the best practices in building and development in Central Texas. Edison Apartments, an upscale multifamily community that boasts eco-friendly features and smart home technology, was named a finalist for the ‘Best New Multifamily Development’ in this year’s program.

“As Presidium’s first ground-up development project, Edison is an exceptional masterpiece of conscious and community,” said Cross Moceri, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Presidium. “Being listed among the top projects within the Central Texas real estate community testifies to the thoughtful design that went into developing Edison Apartments and the hard work by all teams involved.”

Edison boasts stunning design features throughout the project. From the two-story open clubhouse to the rooftop deck with a four-story cantilevered architectural awning, Edison grabs the attention of all audiences. Inside the apartment homes, sustainable features such as water saving devices and VRF HVAC units, which are the single most energy energy-efficient option available, give residents and owners peace of mind. The 354-unit community is conveniently located in the burgeoning Riverside Drive-area in East Austin near downtown, Lady Bird Lake and Austin Bergstrom International Airport.

Other features of the 4-story development include nine-foot ceilings, pet-friendly faux-wood floors, a resort-style pool with outdoor kitchens and cabana areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center with on-demand fitness studio, a dog park, and a rooftop deck where residents can enjoy a panoramic view of Austin’s downtown skyline.

“2020 has been an odd year for commercial real estate. While some sectors such as industrial have been somewhat insulated from the pandemic, everyone is feeling the effects of the global health crisis. Austin is no exception. A return to normalcy still feels a ways off. Yet there are signs of a thaw,” said Will Anderson, Managing Editor, Austin Business Journal. “That makes now seem like an appropriate time for the 2020 Commercial Real Estate Awards — a chance to reflect on challenges encountered and surmounted, relationships maintained and rekindled.”

Winners of this year’s awards program were revealed at the Austin Business Journal’s virtual event on September 23, 2020.
